Preventive action

Corrective and Preventive Action are concepts within Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
Long term cost / risk weighted action taken to prevent a problem from occurring, based on an understanding of the product or process. Preventive action will address inadequate "conditions" which may produce nonconformances. Preventive Actions are typically ( but not limited to ) initiated from Internal Audit results, Management Review output, Quality System records & analysis data, continual improvement objectives and miscellaneous company-wide input vehicles. see also Corrective action
