Effectiveness is a measure of the ability of a program, project or task to produce a specific desired effect or result that can be qualitatively measured.

Efficiency versus effectiveness

Effectiveness is also a measure of the quality of attainment in meeting objectives (Resource effectiveness or team effectiveness); Effectiveness is to be distinguished from efficiency, which is measured by the volume of output achieved for the input used and ,hence, is closely related to productivity.

Effectiveness and efficiency indicators are both part of the ISO-9000 standard.
